BANDAI SPIRITS Company's collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, which issues the classic alloy toy "Chogokin" series, recently announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack", the "MSN-04FF Sazabi", scheduled for limited sale starting April 19, 2024, at GUNDAM SIDE-F in Fukuoka. To prevent reselling, official pre-orders will be open from March 1st to 20th via the LivePocket e-ticket platform. Customers must personally visit the GUNDAM SIDE-F store and present government-issued identification to pick up their order. This product is also planned for future sale on the Bandai Namco Group's official sales website and in regions outside Japan.
The MSN-04FF Sazabi is a mobile suit that appeared in a special video screened at the unveiling of the life-sized "RX-93ff ν Gundam" statue in Fukuoka. Similar to the RX-93ff ν Gundam, its design is based on "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack", with the addition of a new original armament not seen in the anime: the "Double Horn Funnel". These large funnels, resembling lobster claws, are normally mounted on the backpack. They can be remotely controlled to fire beam cannons individually, combine to unleash a massive beam cannon, or be wielded in both hands as large beam sabers.
The overall design of the "Chogokin MSN-04FF Sazabi" fundamentally inherits the Gunpla RG version's aesthetics, with even richer details sculpted into its larger 23 cm tall size. Some parts are crafted from electroplated alloy material, adding a satisfying heft during handling. The characteristic red armor and body markings are rendered using plastic molding colors, paint application, and transfer printing, conveying the texture of a structure built from hard materials like metal. Additionally, the head incorporates an internal LED light-up mechanism that illuminates the head camera with a green glow.
Regarding armament accessories, it not only includes the original Sazabi's beam shotgun, beam tomahawk, beam saber, shield, and funnel-equipped backpack, but also the FF version's distinctive "Double Horn Funnel" armament, resembling giant lobster claws. These can be fitted with dynamic beam effect parts and displayed with a dedicated stand to recreate the powerful Super Beam Greatsword and Super Mega Particle Cannon firing states. Furthermore, Sazabi's "spherical cockpit" part and a ν Gundam-specific hand for holding the cockpit are also included, allowing you to recreate classic scenes from "Char's Counterattack" when paired with the separately sold "Chogokin RX-93ff ν Gundam"!
