American toy brand McFarlane (McFarlane Toys) recently announced a new product to celebrate its 30th anniversary, based on the popular American comic "Spawn" created by McFarlane founder Todd McFarlane – the "Spawn & Todd" 7-inch Action Figure 2-Pack, with a suggested retail price of US$70, expected to be released in May 2024!
"Spawn" is a superhero comic published by McFarlane founder Todd McFarlane in 1992. The story tells of Al Simmons, a U.S. Marine and government special forces member, who is ordered killed by his own boss during a mission. In Hell, he is resurrected by the demon lord Malebolgia, gaining superhuman abilities and immortality to become Spawn, tasked with carrying out Malebolgia's orders.
This time, Spawn sheds his usual dark style, appearing with large, prominent eyes and a head sculpt resembling a Mexican wrestler's mask, looking cool yet a little playful. The biggest highlight this time is definitely the 7-inch action figure of comic creator Todd himself. The head sculpt meticulously and perfectly recreates Todd's friendly smile, while his outfit is the basic convention attire of a lanyard, hat, and T-shirt. As for accessories, in addition to an interview microphone, a signing hand gesture, and an autograph board, the bare feet replacement parts will leave both Spawn and McFarlane fans in stitches.
This set will also include a collectible card personally autographed by Todd himself. Toy collectors who love "Spawn" or Todd himself absolutely shouldn't miss out!
