Japan's TAKARA TOMY toy company's immensely popular die-cast mini car brand "TOMICA" and its "DREAM TOMICA" (ドリームトミカ) series, which collaborates with various well-known IPs, will launch the "Fujiko F. Fujio 90th Anniversary Series" blind box to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the birth of renowned Japanese manga artist Fujiko F. Fujio. The series is themed after many of Fujiko F. Fujio's famous works and includes six models in total, with an estimated retail price of 880 JPY per box, scheduled for release in April 2024!
Manga artist Fujiko F. Fujio was born in 1933. After debuting at the age of 17, he meticulously created as a professional manga artist for 46 years, drawing over 50,000 original illustrations, creating approximately 270 works, and having 14 works adapted into animation. His representative works include "Doraemon," "Kiteretsu Daihyakka," and "Perman." Fujiko F. Fujio's works accompanied the childhoods of several generations of children, and even 28 years after his passing, they continue to profoundly influence Japan's popular culture industry.
This "Fujiko F. Fujio 90th Anniversary Series" features 6 die-cast mini cars designed with representative characters from Fujiko F. Fujio-sensei's popular works as their theme. These include Doraemon and Dorami from "Doraemon," Perman No. 1 from "Perman," Korosuke from "Kiteretsu Daihyakka," as well as Chimpui from "Chimpui" and Pokonyan from "Pokonyan!" The designs are all modified from Volkswagen Beetles, aligning with Fujiko F. Fujio-sensei's drawing style, and their adorable appearance makes them irresistible!
