BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division's TAMASHII NATIONS, under its action figure brand "S.H.Figuarts," recently announced a new product based on the super popular shonen manga "One Piece" – "One Piece Nami -Dawn of Adventure-" (tentative title). The suggested retail price is 7,150 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in September 2024!
Nami first appeared in Chapter 8 of the "One Piece" manga, titled "Nami Appears," and was the second Straw Hat Pirate crewmate Luffy met after Zoro. Initially, she followed Luffy and Zoro for her own interests, experiencing battles against opponents like Buggy the Clown and Captain Kuro. She later left the crew at the Baratie Sea Restaurant, stealing all their money. It was later revealed that Nami's hometown, Cocoyasi Village, was under the control of the Fish-Man Arlong, and she hoped to join the Arlong Pirates to gather 100 million Berries to buy back Cocoyasi Village, but she was deceived by Arlong. After Luffy successfully defeated the Arlong Pirates, Nami officially joined the Straw Hat Pirates as their navigator.
Nami is proficient in various navigation and weather knowledge, and her dream is to draw a map of the entire world. She loves tangerines and believes that the most important things in life are, first, her own life, and second, money. She is stingy yet kind and considerate of her crewmates, and as the first female member of the Straw Hat Pirates, she enjoys immense popularity among fans!
This S.H.Figuarts "One Piece Nami -Dawn of Adventure-" features Nami's design from her first encounter with Luffy in the East Blue Arc, dressed in a blue and white striped top paired with a yellow skirt. The skirt is made of soft plastic, allowing for both exquisite sculpting and high poseability! Accessories include 2 left hands, 3 right hands, and a clasped hands replacement part, 4 different facial expression parts, her main weapon from the East Blue Arc, the staff, and Nami's favorite treasure chest filled with gold and silver! These meticulous designs evoke the excitement of the journey's beginning!
