Bandai SPIRITS' immensely popular "Ichiban Kuji" (一番くじ) lottery series, where every draw wins a prize, has announced its latest product based on "One Piece" – "One Piece Whitebeard Pirates ~Pops and Sons~ (tentative title)". The suggested retail price is 750 JPY per draw, and it is scheduled to launch in late June 2024!
The Whitebeard Pirates were founded by the former Yonko, the great pirate Edward Newgate, who was once the only one capable of rivaling the Pirate King Gol D. Roger. It was a colossal pirate crew with 16 divisions under its command. "Whitebeard" Edward Newgate was an orphan from birth and decided to set sail to make a living, joining the legendary Rocks Pirates. Whitebeard always yearned for a "family." After the God Valley Incident, he left the Rocks Pirates and formed his own Whitebeard Pirates, subsequently taking in famous figures of the sea such as "Blackbeard" Marshall D. Teach, Wano Country's Shogun Kozuki Oden, and Gol D. Roger's son, "Fire Fist" Portgas D. Ace. He affectionately called them "sons," and his crew members regarded Whitebeard as their father, calling him "Pops." The profound bond between the crew and their captain runs throughout the entire One Piece story and is beloved by fans.
