To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the popular video game series "Monster Hunter," TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. Japan, which issues the "S.H.MonsterArts" series combining exquisite monster sculpting with outstanding articulation technology, today announced the latest product, "S.H.MonsterArts Zinogre -20th Anniversary Edition-," scheduled for release in August 2024.
First appearing in "Monster Hunter Portable 3rd," Zinogre is a large Fanged Wyvern monster that inhabits mountainous regions. Although it lacks wings and the ability to fly, its limb muscles are extremely developed, and its movements are highly agile, allowing it to pounce on prey with its powerful forelimbs. Its carapace has electricity storage capabilities, and its body fur can wrap electrical energy around its entire body, emitting a brilliant azure light and unleashing currents with power comparable to lightning strikes. The Jinouga (Zinogre) weapon and armor series, crafted from Zinogre materials, boasts excellent thunder element properties and thunder resistance, and its cool appearance is also very popular.
The "S.H.MonsterArts Zinogre -20th Anniversary Edition-" is based on the regular edition released in 2021. Its sculpting is fully supervised by "Monster Hunter" series director Kaname Fujioka. It features a large size of approximately 28.5 cm in length and utilizes ABS material to recreate the sharp sculpting and high-density details of its claws, fangs, carapace, and scales. The grayish-white fur is rendered with clear parts to convey a fluffy texture, and combined with rich coloring, makes Zinogre even more lifelike. Through precise part segmentation, joints with a high range of motion are provided from the neck, torso, and tail to the limbs, and interchangeable front and rear paw parts in a claw-extended state are included to recreate poses such as running and pouncing on prey.
Furthermore, the limited edition also includes "discharge effect parts" not found in the old version, which can be attached around Zinogre's neck to recreate its discharge state. The old version's rock-themed pedestal has been replaced with a new pedestal featuring the "Monster Hunter" 20th Anniversary LOGO.
