Japanese brand GOOD SMILE COMPANY's "Nendoroid Doll" series, which features low-head-to-body ratio figures with fabric clothing, has announced a new product based on the classic popular anime "Cardcaptor Sakura" – the "Sakura Kinomoto Tomoeda Junior High School Uniform Ver." The suggested retail price is 11,000 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in September 2024!
"Cardcaptor Sakura" is a magical girl-themed work originally created by the manga group CLAMP and adapted by the Japanese animation studio MADHOUSE. Sakura Kinomoto is a lively, cheerful, understanding, and somewhat air-headed girl. One day, she accidentally opened the book sealing the Clow Cards, causing them to scatter across the world. To retrieve all the Clow Cards, which possess free will and immense power and were causing destruction, Sakura became a Cardcaptor at the request of the guardian "Keroberos."
This "Sakura Kinomoto Tomoeda Junior High School Uniform Ver." features fabric clothing tailored to recreate Sakura's appearance in her Tomoeda Junior High School uniform from the first season of Cardcaptor Sakura, all within the Nendoroid Doll's three-head-tall proportion. Details such as the collar, cuffs, tie, pleated skirt, and socks are all meticulously rendered. Magnets in the soles of the shoes also provide a more stable display experience. The interchangeable face part includes Sakura's cheerful smile, and her two signature dangling strands of hair are also faithfully reproduced, with the adorable design perfectly capturing the youthful vibrancy of the series!
