American toy giant Sideshow Collectibles recently announced a new 1/6 scale articulated figure based on a horror theme: "Beetlejuice"! It is expected to ship from August to November 2024, with a suggested retail price of US$280.
The horror-comedy film "Beetlejuice," directed by Tim Burton and starring Michael Keaton, tells the story of Adam and Barbara, a couple who loved renovating their home. Although they died in a car accident, they were able to remain in their beloved house... until new residents arrived and began redecorating. Unwilling to see the home they had meticulously furnished in life destroyed by the new family, Adam and Barbara decided to scare the new residents away. However, they soon realized that living people couldn't see ghosts (except for Lydia, the daughter of the new family). With no other options, Adam and Barbara decided to seek the help of Beetlejuice to scare them...
This 30 cm tall three-dimensional Beetlejuice figure recreates Michael Keaton's frenzied appearance after heavy makeup, including his messy, voluminous hair, pale complexion, seemingly moldy beard, and panda-like black eye makeup. Throughout the black and white striped suit, on the collar of the white shirt, and on the skin of the hands, one can observe dirty weathering and dust effects. The hands feature highly lifelike skin tone gradients and finely detailed sharp fingernails. Accessories include the "Handbook for the Recently Deceased," a manual that all recently deceased individuals must study, a watch, a nail file, and multiple interchangeable hands. This is highly recommended for old-school toy collectors who love Beetlejuice and Michael Keaton!
