SEGA Prize, a brand under Japan's SEGA Games Co., Ltd., has recently announced the latest addition to its "Premium Chokonose" sitting figure series, featuring a new product from the popular anime "Bocchi the Rock!". This new item, "Bocchi the Rock! Hitori Gotoh Chochonochoy Ver." (tentative translation), is scheduled for release as a prize item in April 2024!
"Bocchi the Rock!" is a four-panel manga series created by Japanese manga artist Aki Hamaji, which was adapted into an anime by CloverWorks and aired in 2022. The story follows the protagonist, Hitori Gotoh, affectionately known as "Bocchi," who dreams of forming a band and diligently practices guitar. However, due to her severe social anxiety, this dream remains out of reach. One day after school, by chance, she encounters Nijika Ijichi, who is struggling to find a guitarist for her band. This leads Bocchi to join the "Kessoku Band." Together with bassist Ryo Yamada and Ikuyo Kita, they embark on their musical journey, and Bocchi gradually confronts her social anxiety.
This product is a modification of a previously released Bocchi prize figure from the "Premium Chokonose" series. It captures Bocchi's proud and elated expression from episode four of the anime, specifically when Kita asks her to write lyrics. Compared to the previous version, this new item more accurately recreates Bocchi's spectacular "face-art" (exaggerated facial expressions) from the anime, perfectly combining her floating-on-air expression when praised with the series' signature sitting pose!
