Japanese toy and sundry goods manufacturer T-ARTS (Takara Tomy Arts Co., Ltd.) is set to launch a new MARVEL-themed release with a chuunibyou flair this March: the "Avengers Metal Ring Collection" (アベンジャーズ METAL RING COLLECTION) gashapon! There will be five styles in total, with a suggested retail price of 400 JPY per capsule.
In recent years, the trend of ring gashapon has been gaining significant momentum, ranging from classic and enduring onigiri fillings, exquisite and adorable desserts, designs featuring small animals perched on fingertips, to various famous IP-themed characters, all transformed into rings! Among the numerous products, there are also those that are vastly different from the cute style, featuring tough designs and metallic materials as their selling point—products capable of igniting the hidden chuunibyou spirit within! From my personal perspective as an editor, this "Avengers Metal Ring Collection" undoubtedly falls into the latter category.
This collection features five styles in total, including one gold and one silver Avengers logo, as well as Captain America's Vibranium shield, and the helmets symbolizing Iron Man and Black Panther. The size is approximately 3 cm. The weighty feel and cool touch of the alloy, coupled with the super embarrassing power it brings when slipped onto your finger, trust me, you'll all be addicted once you wear one of these rings! It's worth noting that each gashapon also comes with a ball chain, allowing these rings to be used as charms.
