American toy manufacturer NECA yesterday (March 7th) unveiled a new product based on the American comic "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin" – the "The Last Ronin Casey Jones" 7-inch action figure – during the Walmart Collector Con preview, an annual online event hosted by the renowned US supermarket chain Walmart, set to launch next week. The suggested retail price is US$34.99, with pre-orders expected to open on the Walmart website on March 15, 2024!
Following the release of two versions of The Last Ronin himself two years ago, NECA's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin" toy series has since introduced products featuring Raphael, Leonardo from the flashback chapters, and various villains from the comics. This "The Last Ronin Casey Jones" figure is inspired by issue #3 of "The Last Ronin" comic, specifically the flashback scene where Casey, alongside Leonardo, valiantly defends their hiding place to the death after it was breached by the Foot Clan.
This product faithfully recreates Casey Jones's appearance in the comic, which differs from previous iterations. Having married April, Casey exudes a more mature, adult aura. The figure accurately depicts Casey in his vigilante attire, complete with armor and his iconic hockey mask. Accessories include his signature hockey stick, two baseball bats, a cricket bat, and a hammer, all of which can be stored in the stick bag on Casey's back. The black outlines and detailed paintwork continue the strong comic book aesthetic of this series, presenting Casey's image as he fights to the death!
For the packaging, Ben Bishop, the comic artist for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin," was once again invited to personally illustrate the artwork. The exquisite box art significantly enhances the collectible value of this series' packaging!
