MEGAHOUSE, a Japanese model manufacturer, recently announced the latest product in its finished space battleship model series, 'Cosmo Fleet Special,' the 'Musai-class Valkyrie Re.' from 'Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN,' slated for release in late August 2024.
In the series, the full name of this vessel is the 'Fleet Command Ship Dozle Zabi's Custom Musai-class Valkyrie,' serving as the flagship for Dozle Zabi, the Supreme Commander of the Principality of Zeon's Space Attack Force. While its exterior design resembles that of a standard Musai-class light cruiser, its overall specifications are custom-designed for a flagship. Its size alone is 30% larger than a normal Musai-class ship, and even its twin Mega Particle Cannons are proportionally enlarged. It boasts excellent communication capabilities and firepower, playing an active role in securing a decisive victory for the Zeon forces during the Battle of Loum.
The 'Cosmo Fleet Special Musai-class Valkyrie Re.' is a remastered version based on the old edition released in 2016. With a total length of approximately 19 cm, it faithfully recreates the in-series design, meticulously detailing the trapezoidal bridge and turrets, the rich armor line details across the entire ship, and its deep green paint scheme. All three enlarged twin Mega Particle Cannons feature rotatable turrets, and the small 'Komusai' craft at the bow also reproduces its separation mechanism from the main body. Additionally, the accessories include four mini 'Zaku' mobile suit models of the same scale, allowing for the recreation of the Zaku storage state within the Komusai by swapping parts.
Unlike the previous version, the entire ship's armor features subtle weathering paint to depict shadows and stains. It also includes new water-slide decals with numerous markings and text, which can be applied to various parts of the hull, enhancing the model's realism.
