BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., today announced the first product from the popular assembly model Shokugan series "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT" based on "Brave Police J-Decker": "SMP [SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT] Brave Police J-Decker", slated for release in July 2024.
The leader of the Brave Police, "Deckerd", is a detective robot developed by the Japanese Metropolitan Police Department to combat advanced robot crime. During its development, it unexpectedly met the protagonist, Yuta Tomonaga. Through daily interactions, its onboard super AI gradually developed a 'heart', enabling it to independently solve numerous major cases without human command. In terms of combat performance, Deckerd can transform from a patrol car into a robot for battle, and can further combine with the support machine "J-Carrier" to form the giant robot "J-Decker", gaining immense power and flight capabilities it originally lacked.
This release of "SMP [SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT] Brave Police J-Decker" includes Deckerd, the J-Carrier, and a set of interchangeable parts and weapons for combination. It is sold as a complete set to prevent issues like missing specific parts for combination, which has occurred with past products. When completed, Deckerd stands approximately 7 cm tall. As the design prioritizes transformation and combination, while Deckerd can transform into a patrol car, this sacrifices some of the robot form's aesthetics and articulation. By swapping hands, it can be posed holding a pistol or a police notebook.
The J-Carrier is several times larger than Deckerd. Its rear container can open to store Deckerd in its patrol car form, and then, through its transformation mechanism, recreate the combined form of "J-Decker". The product also includes interchangeable head and chest parts that prioritize aesthetics, allowing the overall proportions to more closely match the cool appearance from the show. The entire model features flexible joint designs, allowing for dynamic battle scenes with various posed hands, the electromagnetic baton, and the J-Buster weapon.
