The HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. has announced the latest additions to its original plastic model series 『30MINUTES MISSIONS』, known for its easy assembly and free customization features. The "1/144 bEXM-21 Verdianova [Green]" and "1/144 bEXM-21 Verdianova [Navy]" are scheduled for release in July and August 2024, respectively.
The bEXM-21 Verdianova was designed by renowned mechanical designer Kanetake Ebikawa. In the story's setting, it is the Byron Army's first newly developed flight-type unit. It is equipped with a flight backpack featuring a pair of large main wings, granting the Verdianova main unit flight capabilities. It can also be reconfigured into three combat equipment types: "High-Mobility Combat," "Mid-Range Combat," and "Long-Range Combat." Furthermore, the backpack, along with the chest armor, can detach to form a separate flight unit for independent operation.
The two versions of the "30MM 1/144 bEXM-21 Verdianova" differ only in their part molding colors. The kit maintains the series' characteristics of easy assembly, high expandability, and interchangeability. Its relatively simplified structure allows even beginners to quickly complete a cool-looking unit. Once assembled, the Verdianova boasts flexible articulation. It includes two sets of head parts, single-eye and twin-eye, and by swapping antenna designs, it can replicate three specifications: standard unit, special operations unit, and commander unit. The two rifle armaments can also reproduce the High-Mobility, Long-Range Combat, and Mid-Range Combat types depending on how they are equipped.
The distinctive flight backpack can be detached along with the chest parts to form a flight unit. The two included rifles, or separately sold weapon expansion armaments from the 30MM series, can be mounted onto the numerous 3mm expansion ports on the main wings. Additionally, the product includes two types of backpack connection parts, allowing the flight backpack to be equipped on other 30MM series units.
