Released by Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, the "S.H.MonsterArts" series, which combines exquisite monster sculpting with outstanding articulation technology, today announced the latest product from the film "Godzilla-1.0/C", the "Godzilla (2023) Minus Color Ver.", scheduled for release in September 2024.

The Godzilla that appeared in "Godzilla-1.0" was originally an ancient creature inhabiting the deep seas around Odo Island, referred to by local residents as "Oruro". With a body resembling a carnivorous dinosaur, it stood approximately 15 meters tall and possessed an extraordinary regenerative ability that made it impervious to firearms. In late 1945, during World War II, it attacked Japanese troops invading its territory, causing significant casualties. However, in 1946, after the war, U.S. nuclear tests near Bikini Atoll caused Oruro to mutate and grow into Godzilla, reaching a height of 50 meters. Its exaggerated regenerative capabilities allowed it to recover instantly even after being shelled by warships, and it could emit a nuclear-level, high-power heat ray from its mouth.
The "S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla (2023) Minus Color Ver." is sculpted and painted by renowned monster prototype sculptor Yuji Sakai. It is three-dimensionalized based on the 3D model used in the film, featuring an articulated design with a height of approximately 16 cm. Following the release of the standard version late last year, this edition adopts a grayscale color scheme based on its appearance in the film's minus color version, "Godzilla-1.0/C". The originally sandy-yellow skin has been entirely rendered in black, gray, and white, faithfully recreating the vintage texture of a black and white film.

Other parts remain the same as the standard version. The sculpting thoroughly recreates the robust physique reminiscent of the Heisei series Godzilla, the rough skin like deep-sea coral reefs, and the sharp, massive coral-like dorsal fins. The articulation inherits the characteristics of previous products, with precise movable segmented parts and abundant joints in the jaw, neck, torso, limbs, and tail. This time, for the first time in the series, an independent articulation mechanism for each toe has been introduced, recreating scenes of its colossal feet devastating the land.
