Following the "Millennium Puzzle" and "Millennium Rod," Bandai Spirits today announced the third Millennium Item product from "Yu-Gi-Oh!," the "Millennium Ring COMPLETE EDITION," scheduled for release in September 2024.
The Millennium Ring, which appears in "Yu-Gi-Oh!," is one of the seven Millennium Items commissioned by King Aknamkanon of ancient Egypt. However, the priest in charge, Akhenaden, used dark alchemy to create it, sacrificing 99 people from a bandit village. The sole survivor, Thief King Bakura, obtained the seven Millennium Items to avenge his village against the royal family, gaining immense dark power. He was ultimately consumed by the resurrected Great Evil God Zorc, becoming a fragment of Zorc, "Dark Bakura," residing within the Millennium Ring, thus making it the most dangerous Millennium Item. By fate's design, modern-day Ryo Bakura eventually acquired the Millennium Ring, and his mind became dominated by "Dark Bakura," who sought to gather all seven Millennium Items to resurrect the Great Evil God Zorc once more.
The "Millennium Ring COMPLETE EDITION" is crafted in a 1/1 scale based on its in-series depiction and utilizes vacuum metallization to replicate its gleaming golden metallic texture. Accessories include a cord and a display stand, allowing it to be worn as a pendant, just like Bakura in the series.
Furthermore, this Millennium Ring features a built-in sound device with "Dialogue Buttons" and "BGM Buttons" on the back. The dialogue sound effects can be switched between three modes—Ryo Bakura, Dark Bakura, and Thief King Bakura—to play their respective iconic lines. Naturally, this also includes sound effects for monster summons, Spell/Trap Card activations during duels, and the use of Bakura's signature card, "Spirit Board." The BGM features the anime's fifth opening theme "OVERLAP," classic anime background music "The Approaching One" (迫りくるもの), Bakura's dedicated theme "Premonition" (胸騒ぎ), as well as sound effects for the Millennium Ring's in-series glowing and searching.
