BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division, Japan, has announced today that the latest product from the theatrical anime film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, the "HG 1/144 Duel Blitz Gundam", from the most diverse 1/144 scale Gunpla 'HG (High Grade)' series, is scheduled for release in July 2024.
The ZGMF-1027M Duel Blitz Gundam is a mobile suit secretly modified by the Atlantic Federation using the latest technology after transferring the Duel Gundam and Buster Gundam to the Z.A.F.T. military. Its power source has been replaced with a nuclear engine, which is restricted by the Junius Treaty, and it is similarly assigned to its original pilot, Yzak Joule. This mobile suit is equipped with a new assault shroud resembling the Forbidden Gundam, with protruding shoulders that conceal beam rifles and twin missile launchers. It also inherits equipment from the Blitz Gundam, previously piloted by the late comrade Nicol Amalfi, featuring the "Gleipnir" on its left arm and "Lancer Darts" on its right arm.
The "HG 1/144 Duel Blitz Gundam" is produced using Bandai's latest color separation and part division technology, utilizing molded part colors to reproduce the mobile suit's colors as accurately as possible. All "Assault Shroud" armor equipped on the body can be freely detached to reveal the internal Duel Gundam base frame. It also features the "SEED Action System," which allows for classic poses from the Gundam SEED series, enabling dynamic battle poses from the show through flexible joint designs such as double joints in the forearms and independently swinging hip joints for the legs.
Regarding weaponry, in addition to the handheld beam rifle and two beam sabers, the beam rifles, missiles, and beam sabers concealed within the shoulder-mounted assault shrouds on both sides all feature deployment mechanisms for recreation. The two "Lancer Darts" mounted on the right arm can be detached and used as handheld weapons, while the "Gleipnir" mounted on the left arm can be combined with a yellow single-core wire and a dedicated display base to recreate its firing state.
