GOOD SMILE COMPANY of Japan has announced the first product from the "POP UP PARADE" series, known for its affordable pre-painted figures, featuring "Izumo Tenka" from Chained Soldier! It is scheduled for release starting September 2024, with a suggested retail price of 4,800 JPY (tax included).
The Japanese manga Chained Soldier, originally written by Takahiro (タカヒロ) and illustrated by Yohei Takemura, opens with the dawn of a new era—an era where "gender equality" has vanished. Mysterious alternate dimensions called "Mato" have appeared across Japan, inhabited by ferocious monsters known as "Yomotsu Shikome." Simultaneously, "Peaches" that grant special abilities when consumed have also grown within the Mato, but these Peaches only bestow powers upon women. In response, the government established a new organization, the "Anti-Demon Corps," composed of women who have gained the power of the Peaches. The male protagonist, Yuuki Wakura, encounters Kyoka Uzen, the captain of the Seventh Unit of the Anti-Demon Corps, during a Mato disaster, and thus begins his (happy) slave life.
Izumo Tenka is the captain of the Sixth Unit of the Anti-Demon Corps, with a bust of 88 cm. Upon her first appearance, she showed intense interest in Yuuki. After the exchange battle between the Sixth and Seventh Units, she not only proposed to Kyoka a trade condition of "wanting Yuuki" but also used her space-manipulating ability, "Ama-no-Mitori-no-Mikoto," to teleport into Yuuki's room and launch a predatory adult assault! Her beautiful, gentle, and utterly "wife-material" attributes make her an irresistible presence. It's no wonder she dominated the manga's first-anniversary popularity poll with 12,435 votes, surpassing Kyoka Uzen (7,102 votes) to claim the top spot!
The "POP UP PARADE Izumo Tenka" figure stands approximately 18 cm tall. Based on the anime's design, Tenka is sculpted wearing her Anti-Demon Corps uniform, faithfully recreating her distinctive two-tone short hair, her impressively ample bust even when tightly clad, the colors and epaulets of her uniform, and Tenka's perpetually composed expression. Overall, I personally find the figure to be solid and it effectively conveys the aura Tenka displayed upon her first appearance. However, I really hope they release a private clothes version of Tenka! Please!
