American collectible manufacturer Premium Collectibles Studio (PCS), after releasing the four Turtle brothers: Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo, their arch-nemesis Shredder, Rocksteady, Bebop, and Krang, based on the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" animation, once again unveiled their latest work yesterday (1st): the "April O’Neil Silver Exclusive" 1/4 scale full body statue.
April O’Neil is a righteous news reporter and one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' most reliable human allies, often providing the Turtle brothers with useful information. In the original 1987 animated series, she appeared in a yellow jumpsuit. While information is April's greatest weapon, in the video game "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge," players can control April and deliver spectacular heavy blows to enemies with her reporting equipment! This 1/4 scale statue of April stands approximately 45.7 cm tall, recreating her classic jumpsuit. She holds a microphone and camera from Channel 6 News, and the small recorder connected to the microphone by a cable and hanging from her waist is also faithfully reproduced.
The head sculpt retains the orange short hair from the animated series, but PCS offers a new interpretation of her facial contours. The jumpsuit not only features numerous pockets and stitching details, as well as wrinkles created by her pose, but its form-fitting nature and curvaceous silhouette definitely far surpass the earlier animated character design. Paired with the Mouser robot underfoot and a debris-strewn road scene, it fully conveys the narrative atmosphere of April being in peril. The Silver Exclusive version also includes an interchangeable left hand holding a slice of pizza, a certificate, a statue cleaning kit, and other contents.
