BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, will release a new S.H.Figuarts action figure based on the anime "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story" – the "Hajime Saito" action figure. The suggested retail price is 8,800 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in September 2024!
"Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story" is an adaptation of Nobuhiro Watsuki's manga "Rurouni Kenshin," produced by LIDENFILMS, and is a remake of the 1996 anime. Hajime Saito, who appears in the series, is based on the historically real captain of the Shinsengumi, the largest swordsman group of the Bakumatsu period. He was the former captain of the Shinsengumi's Third Unit, possessing exceptional swordsmanship and a top-notch ability to deliver sharp retorts. In the story, he is Kenshin's arch-rival and the only master who never had a decisive outcome against Kenshin.
This S.H.Figuarts Hajime Saito stands approximately 16.5 cm tall and was produced under the direct supervision of original author Nobuhiro Watsuki. It faithfully recreates Saito's appearance in his police officer uniform from the anime, including his iconic four "cockroach antennae" hairstyle, which has been excellently reproduced, creating a striking visual impact in its physical form. Accessories include three interchangeable facial expressions, three types of left hand parts, five types of right hand parts, and two versions of his katana: drawn and sheathed. By utilizing these accessories, fans can recreate various poses, such as Saito performing his Gatotsu sword technique, and display him alongside the previously released "Kenshin Himura" to create impressive scenes!
