American toy manufacturer JAKKS Pacific, which holds numerous game and film/television IP licenses, recently launched two new products based on the classic adult animated sitcom "The Simpsons"—the "Homer & Living Room Playset" and "The Simpsons 2.5-inch Action Figure Set." The suggested retail prices are $19.99 and $21.68 respectively, with an anticipated release in September 2024!
"The Simpsons," created by Matthew Groening for the American Fox Broadcasting Company, has aired 36 seasons since its debut in 1989. The story revolves around the peculiar daily lives of the protagonist Simpson family and the town of Springfield. Its plots often align with real-life current events, consistently sparking much discussion, and has even accurately predicted major events such as the election of former U.S. President Trump. The localized dubbing and adaptation to Taiwanese current events when "The Simpsons" aired on Fox Taiwan also greatly impressed fans!
The "Homer & Living Room Playset" launched by JAKKS Pacific this time includes Homer, the father of the Simpson family, and recreates the Simpson family's living room scene with plastic models and sticker illustrations. The exterior features a print of the Simpson house's facade. The sofa has an ejector mechanism to launch characters, and the carpet section features a rolling mechanism where characters can be placed to simulate them moving around the living room!
The "The Simpsons 2.5-inch Action Figure Set," released concurrently, includes most members of the Simpson family: "Homer," "Marge," "Bart," "Lisa," "Maggie," as well as pets "Santa's Little Helper" and "Snowball." When played with the Living Room Playset, it can recreate the iconic opening scene of the family crowded together watching TV in the living room!
