Bandai Toy Company of Japan's popular soft vinyl toy series, 'MOVIE MONSTER,' recently announced the latest product from the film 'Shin Godzilla,' the 'Shin Godzilla: ORTHO Three-Form Set,' slated for release in October 2024.
The Godzilla that appeared in the film 'Shin Godzilla' was jointly designed by director Hideaki Anno, designer Mahiro Maeda, and sculptor Takayuki Takeya, among others. It is a colossal 'perfect organism' capable of freely and rapidly evolving and devolving, quickly adapting to its environment, undergoing several evolutions within hours of landing in Japan. Godzilla possesses a 'thermonuclear energy conversion bio-organ' within its body, seemingly able to generate immense energy without needing to feed and release radioactive substances. The heat ray it emits from its mouth instantly incinerates the bustling streets of Tokyo, completely exceeding the current scope of human knowledge.
The 'MOVIE MONSTER Shin Godzilla: ORTHO Three-Form Set' is based on modifications to previously released standard versions. It includes three soft vinyl models of Godzilla (2016) in its Second, Third, and Fourth Forms. These figures are painted and dry-brushed with specially formulated matte grayscale pigments to minimize surface light reflection, faithfully recreating the grayscale texture seen in the black and white film version.
