From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division, the 'HG (High Grade)' series of 1/144 scale Gunpla, known for its diverse range of mobile suits, today announced the latest product from the theatrical film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM": "HG 1/144 Gyan Strom (Hilda Harken's Custom Machine)", scheduled for release in August 2024. This product will be sold exclusively on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
ZGMF-2027 Gyan Strom is a successor unit to the ZGMF-X2000 Gouf Ignited, developed by the Z.A.F.T. military and operated by the world peace monitoring organization "COMPASS" as a dedicated mobile suit. As a new model in the "New Millennium Series," the Gyan Strom's appearance also pays homage to the "Gyan," a close-combat mobile suit developed by the Principality of Zeon in the original "Mobile Suit Gundam." It features the Gyan's characteristic head design and round shield, and is equipped with a heat rod and various beam armaments. The backpack can be swapped between atmospheric and space-use specifications depending on mission requirements.
The "HG 1/144 Gyan Strom (Hilda Harken's Custom Machine)" is a modification of the previously generally released Agnes Giebenrath's Custom Machine. It utilizes new molding colors to reproduce Hilda's machine's characteristic navy blue tone, and its backpack uses the same atmospheric-use backpack parts as the Gelgoog Menace.
The rest of the design is identical to the standard version, featuring the "SEED Action System" which allows for classic poses from the Gundam SEED series. Its movable design, including the sliding mechanism at the shoulder armor connection points, provides an excellent range of articulation. The armament also includes a beam rifle, beam saber, shield, a dedicated heat rod for the right arm, and an imposing large beam axe. A stored-state beam axe handle is included and can be mounted on the waist. The chest armor features an expansion gimmick; by inserting Gatling gun parts, the barrel-deployed state can be recreated. Furthermore, the round shield comes with two beam effect parts that can envelop its surroundings, recreating the state of deploying beam blades and spinning to cut.
