Japan's KADOKAWA has officially announced the second product in its plastic model series, "KADOKAWA PLASTIC MODEL SERIES (KADOPLA)", featuring "Mikoto Misaka" and "Mikoto Misaka DX ver." from "A Certain Scientific Railgun", scheduled for release in January 2025.
The protagonist, Mikoto Misaka, attends Tokiwadai Middle School, a prestigious girls' school in Academy City. She is lively, straightforward, possesses a strong sense of justice, and has a kind-hearted nature that prevents her from abandoning others. Among the mere seven Level 5 espers, Mikoto, ranked third, garners significant attention not only for her top-tier electricity manipulation ability, "Railgun," but also for her commendable journey of gradually climbing to her current Level 5 status. She excels in both academics and sports. However, due to the nature of her "Railgun" ability, small animals she adores often feel frightened and keep their distance.
The "KADOPLA Mikoto Misaka" is an articulated figure of Mikoto Misaka, approximately 16 cm tall, wearing her Tokiwadai Middle School summer uniform, assembled from multi-color molded parts and partially pre-painted parts. The overall design faithfully reproduces the anime version's settings, including three pre-painted interchangeable face parts: a "smiling face," a "winking face," and a "shouting face," along with a flexible articulated joint design.
Accessory parts further include a base, a stand, 5 pairs of interchangeable hand parts, an Iron Sand Sword, and effect parts to recreate her superpowers such as "Electric Shock" and "Railgun." Purchasing from KADOKAWA's official e-commerce site will also grant bonus "Electric Shock effect PET sheet" and "Discharge Ground effect PET sheet," which can be combined to recreate various cool attack scenes from the series!
The more luxurious "KADOPLA Mikoto Misaka DX ver." includes all the contents of the standard version, plus an additional complete "Mikoto Misaka Original Swimsuit ver." body and an "open-mouthed smiling face" interchangeable face part, which can also be combined with various effect parts to create an even wider array of scenes.
