BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collectible division, known for its S.H.Figuarts action figure brand, is once again expanding its "CineToy TAMASHII" series with new releases based on the classic film "Star Wars: A New Hope." Following the recent announcement of the Darth Vader (Classic Ver.), collectors can now look forward to the "Stormtrooper (Classic Ver.)" action figure. This new figure is priced at 8,800 JPY and is slated for an October 2024 release!
Beyond Darth Vader, the Stormtrooper stands as another incredibly iconic character in the "Star Wars" universe. First appearing in the 1977 film (later retitled "Star Wars: A New Hope"), these troopers serve as the military force of the villainous Galactic Empire. While Old Ben Kenobi famously claimed their aim was "very precise," this statement often stands in stark contrast to their actual combat performance and the occasional comedic blunders seen in the background, making them a frequent subject of fan jest and memes!
This latest Stormtrooper release marks a return after the 2019 version, faithfully recreating the trooper's appearance from "Star Wars: A New Hope." Subtle adjustments have been made to the paint application, bringing it even closer to its on-screen look. The figure once again includes essential accessories such as the E-11 blaster rifle, a blaster sniper rifle, and a grenade launcher. While the holster design from the previous version appears to have been omitted, the overall sculpt remains highly accurate, allowing fans to pose the white-armored troopers in a variety of dynamic combat stances!
