Issued by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., the 'S.H.MonsterArts' series, which combines exquisite monster sculpting with outstanding articulation technology, announced today the latest product, "Godzilla (1954) 70th Anniversary Special Memorial Ver.", scheduled for release in November 2024.

The First Godzilla, which appeared in the 1954 film "Godzilla", is also known as "Gojira" or "The Hydrogen Bomb Monster". This black behemoth, weighing 20,000 tons and standing 50 meters tall, dwelled in the deep sea. It was speculated to be a transitional creature that evolved from marine reptiles to terrestrial beasts, but its habitat was destroyed by nuclear tests, causing it to emerge onto land with hatred, devastating human cities. Tanks and missiles were utterly ineffective against it, yet its high-temperature heat ray easily engulfed Tokyo in flames.

The "S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla (1954) 70th Anniversary Special Memorial Ver." is based on the iconic movie poster image of the 1954 "Godzilla". The overall sculpting and coloring are once again handled by Japan's most renowned Godzilla sculptor, Yuji Sakai. The previously released standard version has been given a new color application to depict the jet-black behemoth illuminated by the Tokyo inferno as seen in the poster.

The entire articulation mechanism is the same as the standard version, featuring precise part segmentation by S.H.MonsterArts series designer Mitsuhiko Hosokawa. It incorporates multiple flexible movable joints while maintaining the integrity of the sculpt. Accessories include a newly sculpted orange-red atomic breath effect, two fighter jets, a clear stand, and a Godzilla 70th Anniversary LOGO display base, allowing for further recreation of the movie poster's composition!
