American toy brand MEZCO TOYZ, under its highly popular 1/12 scale action figure series "One:12 Collective," recently announced a new product themed after Marvel Comics—the "Doctor Octopus" 1/12 scale action figure. It has a suggested retail price of US$112 and is scheduled for release in January 2025!
One of Spider-Man's most famous villains, "Doctor Octopus," was created by Marvel's father Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko. Otto Octavius is an extremely intelligent nuclear physicist who once drew inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci's sketch "Vitruvian Man" to create a device with four mechanical tentacles. During an accidental radiation leak that caused an explosion, the tentacle device fused with Otto's body. The effects of the radiation mutated his brain, allowing him to directly control the tentacles with his mind, but it also drove him insane, transforming him into the villain "Doctor Octopus."
This "Doctor Octopus" 1/12 scale action figure is crafted in his classic comic book appearance, using fabric materials to present his yellow-green jumpsuit and lab coat, and faithfully recreating his somewhat portly and comical physique hidden beneath the tight suit. The most crucial mechanical tentacle device offers multiple interchangeable parts of different lengths and styles. Each one features an internal wire structure, allowing for free bending and posing.
