The HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. has announced the latest collaborative product, "BALAM INDUSTRIES BD-011 MELANDER LIGERTAIL," from its original plastic model kit series "30MINUTES MISSIONS," known for its easy assembly and free customization, in partnership with "Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon." It is scheduled for release in December 2024.
"Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon" is the latest installment in the "Armored Core" series, developed by FromSoftware, after a decade-long hiatus. The story is set on the remote planet "Rubicon 3," where humanity discovered a mysterious new substance called "Coral." While initially believed to be a new energy source that would greatly advance technology, it instead brought about a catastrophic disaster that engulfed the entire star system. Nearly a century later, the terrifying "Coral" has become a target of contention for extra-planetary corporations and resistance groups. Players once again take on the role of "Raven," a robot-piloting mercenary, to infiltrate Rubicon and delve deeper into the heart of this storm of conflict.
This product features the AC unit "LIGERTAIL" piloted by G1 Michigan, commander of BALAM INDUSTRIES' dedicated AC unit "Redguns." Utilizing the 30MM series' signature features of easy assembly and free customization, it is produced as a plastic model kit. Its precise sculpting thoroughly reproduces the high-density details of the VERRILL and MELANDER components, along with the characteristic four-legged lower body articulation mechanism, boasting a more imposing size than the previous two products. Furthermore, each part is designed with the series' common structure, allowing for free customization just like in the game.
For weaponry, it includes the "DF-GA-08 HU-BEN Gatling Gun" mounted on the right arm, the "DF-ET-09 TAI-YANG-SHOU Explosive Thrower" equipped on the left arm, and the "BML-G2/P17SPL-16 Split Missile" and "SONGBIRDS Grenade Cannon" mounted on the left and right shoulders. These armaments allow for the recreation of cool combat poses from the game, and also feature the series' common structure for free customization.
