The highly popular die-cast toy brand "Soul of Chogokin," released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors' toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, officially announced its latest product today (31st): "GX-111 Great Mazinger - KAKUMEI SHINKA-"! It is scheduled for release in November 2024, with a suggested retail price of 22,000 JPY.
After Koji Kabuto and Mazinger Z defeated Dr. Hell, a new evil once again approached! The "Mycenae Empire," lurking underground, began to extend its claws to the surface. Mycenae used "Battle Beasts," more powerful than Mechanical Beasts, as weapons to launch their invasion. Their power was so immense that even Mazinger Z struggled to resist. Just as Koji Kabuto was in despair, a young man named Tetsuya Tsurugi arrived to rescue him, piloting "Great Mazinger." With overwhelming power, he repelled the Battle Beasts, becoming a new force to protect the world. Although similar in appearance to Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, built with "New Super Alloy Z," boasts a larger size, stronger armor, and greater basic output, making it arguably the Earth's strongest robot, surpassing Mazinger Z.
Following the valiant "Mazinger Z," the "Black Iron Castle," it is now Great Mazinger's turn to descend once again into the Soul of Chogokin line in its Revolutionary Evolution (KAKUMEI SHINKA) form! The "GX-111 Great Mazinger - KAKUMEI SHINKA -" stands over 19 cm tall, surpassing Mazinger Z. In addition to meticulously recreating its refined, smooth curves and the sharp blade structures on its thighs and arms, this Great Mazinger achieves a further transformation with newly designed mechanical and articulation structures.
First and foremost, it can launch the Mazinger Punch without needing replacement parts. Furthermore, in line with Great Mazinger's Mazinger Punch utilizing rotation to increase power, the elbow joints are equipped with rotation and articulation. The enhanced version of the Mazinger Punch, the "Screw Crusher Punch," which features blade structures on both arms, is also included. Additionally, classic moves such as the Mazinger Blade (pop-out blades on the shins for the Mazinger Kick), Mazinger Boomerang (after removing the chest heat plates), and Mazinger Drill are all reproducible. Accessories include two ultra-luxurious Mazinger Blades with silver-plated blades and gold-plated handles, interchangeable hands for performing the Mazinger Lightning, and the enhanced special equipment, the Brain Condor.
Of course, the biggest selling point of this product is its hip joints, which allow for natural kneeling poses and powerful kicking stances, enabling you to recreate Great Mazinger's dynamic battles against the Mycenae Empire from the manga as accurately as possible. It's truly awesome!
