BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan has officially unveiled today the full details of its latest product from the theatrical anime film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM," the "HG 1/144 Black Knight Squad Cal-re.A," part of the 1/144 scale Gunpla "HG (High Grade)" series, which boasts the most diverse range of mobile suits. It is scheduled for release in October 2024.
The NOG-M2D1/E Black Knight Squad Cal-re.A is the latest advanced two-seater mobile suit in the Black Knight series, independently developed by the Foundation combining P.L.A.N.T. technology. It is piloted by Orphee Lam Tao, the Prime Minister of the Foundation, and his secretary, Ingrid Tradoll. This unit's performance far surpasses that of other Black Knight series mobile suits, equipped with "FT Armor" that significantly defends against beam attacks, and 8 DRAGOON System wings derived from P.L.A.N.T. technology. Each wing features 8 beam cannons, totaling an impressive 64 beam cannons. Furthermore, it can even control the large DRAGOON System "AMO-01 Ziggurat," which resembles a small battleship.
The "HG 1/144 Black Knight Squad Cal-re.A" is produced using Bandai's latest color separation and part division technology, utilizing molded part colors to reproduce the mobile suit's colors as accurately as possible. The golden engravings on the entire body armor are recreated with realistic metallic gloss-textured parts. It also features the "SEED Action System," which allows for classic poses from the Gundam SEED series. With flexible joint designs such as double joints in the forearms and independently swinging hip joints for the legs, you can recreate dynamic battle poses from the show.
Weapon accessories include a beam rifle and two anti-ship swords. The chest armor can be deployed to reveal internal beam cannon muzzles. The DRAGOON System on the back can recreate wing deployment by swapping parts, and printed PET sheets are included to reproduce the magnificent "Wings of Light" effect. The 8 deployed DRAGOON System beam cannons can also recreate beam effects from the armor muzzles on both sides, allowing for dynamic all-range attack battle scenes.
