BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, from Japan, has announced the latest product in their transforming alloy toy "DX Chogokin" series, the "VF-25S Armored Messiah Valkyrie (Ozma Lee Custom) Revival Ver." from "Macross Frontier," scheduled for release in November 2024.
The variable fighter VF-25 Messiah Valkyrie, which appeared in "Macross Frontier," is a cutting-edge unit operated by the private military company "S.M.S." It possesses characteristics of previous models such as the VF-19 Excalibur and VF-22 Sturmvogel, with enhanced performance. It also utilizes the new "EX-GEAR" pilot suit, which combines joystick and ejection seat functions, and the new "ISC" (Inertia Store Converter) system, which leverages the FOLD system, to address the issue of excessive G-force load on pilots. This model is also equipped with various backpack parts that can be swapped according to mission requirements, including the "Super Pack" for high mobility, the "Armored Pack" for enhanced firepower and defense, and the "Sniper Pack" for long-range support, among others.
The "DX Chogokin VF-25S Armored Messiah Valkyrie (Ozma Lee Custom) Revival Ver." is based on a previously released product with modifications. It includes the VF-25S main unit piloted by Skull Squadron leader Ozma Lee and the Armored Pack parts. Each part's surface has been given a matte finish to enhance its texture, and new fuselage markings have been added.
The VF-25S main unit also features a precise three-stage transformation mechanism, allowing it to reproduce its FIGHTER, GERWALK, and BATTROID forms. It can be posed in battle scenes with accessories such as the GUNPOD, assault knife, and a mini pilot figure for the cockpit. The Armored Pack can also be equipped in all three forms, recreating its powerful heavy armament appearance, and the various missile pods feature deployment mechanisms, revealing internal warhead details.
