BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced that the "METAL ROBOT Damashii" series, which combines metallic paint finishes with alloy frames, will release "Strike Freedom Gundam Type II," "Infinite Justice Gundam Type II," and "Mighty Striker & Effect Parts Set" from *Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM*. Detailed product information is scheduled to be revealed on June 13th.
The "METAL ROBOT Damashii" series produces finished movable figures using plastic and alloy materials. It reproduces numerous robot characters at the same scale as the "ROBOT Damashii" line, but features an alloy movable frame that provides a substantial feel when handled, along with metallic paint finishes that convey a sense of weight and quality. With flexible articulation designs and a rich array of weapon accessories, it allows for the recreation of cool battle scenes from the original work.
The protagonist Kira Yamato's new mobile suit, the ZGMF/A-262B Strike Freedom Gundam Type II, is a new machine improved with Orb's latest technology. It was developed half a year before the events of *FREEDOM*, after the original Strike Freedom Gundam was shot down following a failed terrorist attempt to steal it. While its exterior appearance hasn't undergone significant changes, all its armaments, except for the High-Energy Beam Rifle, have been updated. Notably, it secretly houses a powerful "Convergent Heavy Nuclear Beam Cannon" in its forehead, though it cannot be utilized in this form due to its excessive destructive power and high energy consumption.
When combined with Lacus Clyne's "Mighty Striker" to form the "Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam," this machine's firepower is further enhanced. It can not only spread nano-particles via brainwave conduction to release powerful high-pressure currents within a given range, but also finally utilize the hidden "Convergent Heavy Nuclear Beam Cannon" in its forehead, delivering extraordinary destructive power.
Meanwhile, the "Infinite Justice Gundam Type II" is a new machine improved from Athrun Zala's previous mobile suit, the Infinite Justice Gundam, using Orb's latest technology. It features an all-around cockpit and VPS Armor, with significantly revamped exterior armor details. A beam saber has been added to its head for thrusting attacks, and its backpack has been replaced from the original "Fatum-01" with a new propulsion backpack. This new backpack, with its new folding wings, grants it ultra-high-speed combat capabilities, and the leading edges of its four wings can also deploy beam blades. However, since this machine's nuclear engine violates the Junius Treaty, it must usually operate discreetly, disguised as a Z'Gok.
