The popular action figure series "S.H.Figuarts" from TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, has announced its latest product from the theatrical anime film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM": "Athrun Zala (COMPASS Pilot Suit Ver.)". The suggested retail price is 9,900 Japanese Yen, and it is scheduled for release in December 2024!
"Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM" is a sequel to "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY" after approximately 20 years, with anime director Mitsuo Fukuda continuing to helm the project. Set in Cosmic Era 75, the story unfolds after the great war, where the anti-Coordinator organization "Blue Cosmos" continues to incite conflicts worldwide. The formerly opposing Earth Alliance and P.L.A.N.T, along with the neutral nation Orb, jointly established the world peace monitoring organization "COMPASS." Lacus Clyne, the driving force behind ending the great war, serves as its first president, and Kira Yamato and others intervene in conflicts around the world as members of the organization. Kira's childhood friend, Athrun Zala, after many twists and turns, has returned to the Orb military and secretly assists Kira, Lacus, and others in "COMPASS" as a member of the intelligence organization "Terminal."
The "S.H.Figuarts Athrun Zala (COMPASS Pilot Suit Ver.)" action figure is based on his new design from the theatrical film, featuring the pilot suit of the newly established "COMPASS" organization. Standing approximately 14 cm tall, the entire figure is crafted with the S.H.Figuarts series' excellent articulation technology. Paired with various interchangeable hand parts and a gun, it can be posed in cool combat stances! Facial expressions include a smiling face, a neutral face, and a battle expression, which can be combined with sunglasses accessories. Helmet parts are also included to recreate the state of wearing a helmet!
