Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY's plastic model kit series "MODEROID" has launched a new product based on the classic mecha anime 《Super Robot Galatt》 (超力ロボ ガラット) – the 'Jumboo' (ジャンブー) plastic model kit. The suggested retail price is 8,700 JPY, with an anticipated release in December 2024!
《Super Robot Galatt》 is a robot anime produced by Nagoya TV and Japan Sunrise, with mechanical designs handled by the renowned mechanical designer Kunio Okawara. The story is set in a future Earth where war is nonexistent and all weapons are prohibited. When Earth is invaded by the evil alien Doosan (ドーサン), the mysterious robot Galatt (ガラット) appears as a righteous alien to repel the enemies. His true identity is actually the combat robot transformed from the young boy Michael's (マイケル) commuter robot, Jumboo (ジャンブー).
This Jumboo plastic model kit is crafted based on its in-series design, allowing for transformation between Jumboo's Galatt form and Kurutto form without the need for interchangeable parts. In its Galatt form, it stands approximately 18 cm tall, while in its Kurutto (クルット) form, it is approximately 11.5 cm tall. Accessories include weapons used in the series such as the Banzai Sword, Heat Ray Gun, and Beam Saber, which, combined with its highly articulated body design, allow for a wide variety of cool poses! Additionally, interchangeable face parts are included to recreate Kurutto form's rich expressions!
