TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., which issues the "METAL ROBOT Damashii" series combining metallic paint finishes and alloy frames, today announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM", the "Strike Freedom Gundam Type II", scheduled for release in February 2025.
The ZGMF/A-262B Strike Freedom Gundam Type II, the mobile suit piloted by protagonist Kira Yamato, is a new machine improved with Orb's latest technology, developed half a year before the main story of "FREEDOM" after the "Strike Freedom Gundam" was shot down following an unsuccessful terrorist attempt to steal it. Although there are no major changes in the mobile suit's external appearance, in reality, all armaments except for the High-Energy Beam Rifle have been updated to new specifications. It also secretly houses a powerful "Convergent Heavy Nuclear Beam Cannon" in its forehead. However, due to its excessive destructive power, high energy consumption, and other reasons, it cannot be used in this form.
The "METAL ROBOT Damashii Strike Freedom Gundam Type II" condenses the sophisticated design and flexible articulation from the series into a 14 cm tall figure. It utilizes gold-plated alloy parts to recreate the characteristic gold frame. The entire exterior armor is also finished with various matte and metallic colors to express a weighty texture, and original model markings are printed in various locations, significantly enhancing the detail density and realism as a weapon.
For armaments, it includes a "High-Energy Beam Rifle" that can be recreated connected front-to-back, two "Beam Sabers" that can form a double-bladed weapon, interchangeable "Beam Shield" effect parts for the left and right arms, and a "Prototype 35-Type Railgun" for combating beam-resistant mobile suits. Furthermore, the 8 "Super DRAGOON" mobile weapon wings on the back and the railguns on both hips feature deployment mechanisms. When combined with the dedicated display stand, it can recreate the impressive "Full Burst Mode"!
