Japanese model kit brand "ACKS", under Aoshima Bunka Kyozai Co., Ltd., today announced the latest product from "Space Runaway Ideon", the "Ideon Anime Color Ver. 1/450 Scale Model Kit", slated for release in October 2024.
Space Runaway Ideon is the ultimate weapon, restored and modified by Earthlings after excavating the ruins of the Sixth Civilization. In its robot form, after combining from three machines, it stands at an impressive 105 meters tall and weighs 5,650 tons. Driven by the infinite power "IDE", it exhibits overwhelming combat capabilities. Its melee attacks alone can deliver massive kinetic force, and it houses 16,000 missiles throughout its body, capable of simultaneous multi-directional firing. In the mid-to-late stages of the story, it gains weapons powered by miniature black holes (MBH): the "Ideon Wave Gun," which fires a wave-destroying ray that annihilates vast amounts of matter both inside and outside its path, and the "Ideon Sword," which converges long-range beams emitted from its twin arms into a colossal blade, powerful enough to cleave a planet in two.
The "Ideon Anime Color Ver. 1/450 Scale Model Kit" is a modification of the standard version released in 2022. The saturation of the red, indigo, yellow, and green molded parts has been reduced to more closely match the color scheme used in the original anime. For this release, renowned artist Hidetaka Tenjin has been commissioned to create new box art, depicting a powerful battle scene.
Other features remain consistent with the standard version, boasting an impressive height of 24 cm, a sharp and refined sculpt, and highly articulated joint designs. Weapon accessories include three types of face masks, the massive signature weapon "Wave Gun," and effect parts to recreate the "Ideon Sword" fired from its twin arms, as well as the barrage of missiles launched simultaneously from its shoulders and legs.
