Hong Kong toy company STORM COLLECTIBLES, known for releasing numerous fighting game and manga character action figures, has announced a new product based on the anime "Karas -KARAS-" — the "Otoha Karas" 1/12 scale action figure. The suggested retail price is US$85, and it is expected to be released in Q4 2024!
"Karas -KARAS-" is an original OVA series released by Tatsunoko Production in 2005 and 2007 to commemorate its 40th anniversary. The anime combines elements of fighting, detective stories, ghosts, fantasy, and science fiction. With production costs exceeding 400 million Japanese Yen per episode, it is also known as one of the most expensive anime productions in history. The story tells of a fictional Shinjuku filled with yokai, where the city's powerful guardian, "Karas" Hoshunin Eko, intends to control and destroy the Shinjuku he once protected. To stop the ongoing murders, the new successor, Otoha Yosuke, teams up with other yokai to rise up and fight against him.
This "Otoha Karas" 1/12 scale action figure recreates Otoha's battle-ready state from the series, meticulously sculpting details such as the belt on his armor, the spikes on his arms, and his blue eyes. The paint application exquisitely captures the rough, matte effect of the armor, and the refined color separation of dark gray and light gray gives it a very high-quality feel! Accessories include seven interchangeable hand parts and the die-cast weapon "Uganjin" (烏眠刃), faithfully reproducing Otoha Karas's cool appearance from the series!
