American toy company Mattel's online sales platform Mattel Creations, which collaborates with fans and creators to sell their works, following the release of the "Batman 85th Anniversary Batmobile Collection," yesterday (18th) announced a new Marvel Comics-themed product from its popular die-cast vehicle brand "Hot Wheels." This new item, the "Hot Wheels RacerVerse Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars Die-Cast Vehicles" blind box, is set to be released at the annual San Diego Comic Con (SDCC). The suggested retail price is US$20 per box, and the product is also scheduled to be available simultaneously on the Mattel Creations official website on July 25, 2024, Pacific Time.
Hot Wheels' "RacerVerse" series transforms characters into die-cast vehicles depicted driving cars, having previously released various themes such as Disney characters, SpongeBob, and Star Wars. This blind box collection is themed after Marvel Comics' 1984–1985 comic series, "Secret Wars." Most boxes will contain the "Symbiote-Suit Spider-Man and Black Spider-Buggy," but collectors also have a chance to acquire the "Wolverine and X-Jet" variant. Both designs feature classic Marvel heroes rendered in an adorable, approximately two-head-tall proportion, driving their die-cast vehicles!
This release also includes a lenticular coin as a tribute to classic 80s toy inclusions, and the outer packaging pays homage to the iconic cover of "Secret Wars" Issue #1. It's truly packed with intricate details!
