Japanese company Aniplex has unveiled a new product based on the anime "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" – the "Puella Magi Madoka Magica 10th Anniversary Edition Madoka Kaname" 1/7 scale pre-painted figure. It has a suggested retail price of 45,000 JPY and is scheduled for release in July 2025!
"Puella Magi Madoka Magica," which began airing in 2011, is a 12-episode anime series produced by Japanese animation studio SHAFT and directed by Akiyuki Shinbo. The story, told from the perspective of middle school student Madoka Kaname, depicts the harsh fate of "magical girls" who fight enemies at the cost of their wishes. Its cruel and dark tone, combined with the magical girl theme, created a fresh and innovative style that captivated many fans, making it one of the most awarded and best-selling important works in television anime history!
This product brings to life the cover illustration drawn by character designer Ume Aoki (蒼樹うめ)-sensei for the limited edition Blu-ray disc released in 2021 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of "Puella Magi Madoka Magica." It meticulously sculpts Madoka and Kyubey's dynamic leaping pose from the illustration, faithfully reproducing her flowing hair, the soft texture of her outfit, her long socks, and red high heels! The base transforms the black arch from the illustration into a dressing table, adding paintings depicting witches and familiars. The black panel on the dressing table can be flipped to reveal a mirror on the other side, allowing collectors to enjoy two different atmospheres!
