Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans, attention! American toy brand NECA has announced a "Mirage Comics Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 40th Anniversary Eastman & Laird's First Ninja Turtles" 7-inch action figure 2-pack, an exclusive product to be released at the annual San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) at the end of July!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are comic characters co-created by American comic artists Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. Early on, both were inspired by Marvel's renowned comic artist Jack Kirby, which led them to meet and live together. They then established "Mirage Studio" in their garage. One late night during a doodle session, Kevin playfully drew a ninja turtle character wielding nunchaku. Upon seeing it, Peter drew another in his own style. These two accidentally born, comically-designed ninja turtles later evolved into the four iconic New York heroes who have captivated the world for 40 years!

This product brings the original two turtle doodles to life as 7-inch action figures, crafted with the somewhat comical body proportions seen in the original sketches. The paint application features the classic red and green color scheme of the Mirage Comics Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Accessories include one interchangeable head sculpt for each turtle, a pair of interchangeable hands for each, and stylized versions of the four iconic Ninja Turtles weapons we know – katanas, sai, bo staff, and nunchaku – allowing for various posing combinations! While the articulation might seem average, the opportunity to acquire action figures based on the original doodle designs is incredibly exciting!
The packaging features a collector-friendly window box design. In addition to numerous Mirage Comics-style illustrations printed on the box, the outer sleeve packaging also features the original Ninja Turtles doodle, making it truly rich in detail! To give fans who cannot attend in person a chance to own this item, NECA will also offer pre-orders on the NECA store official website from June 26-28. Toy enthusiasts, don't miss out!
