Chinese toy brand HIYA Toys' high-quality 6-inch action figure series "Exquisite Super" has announced a new product to be released at the annual event San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) – the "Judge Dredd: Cursed Earth Judge Dredd" (tentative translation: Cursed Earth Judge Dredd) 1/12 scale action figure, with a suggested retail price of US$119.99!
"The Cursed Earth" is the second extended storyline for the sci-fi comic character "Judge Dredd" released in the best-selling British comic "2000 AD", and also the first Judge Dredd story to exceed 20 issues. The story tells of Judge Dredd being commanded to lead a team of Judges, carrying vaccines, out of Mega-City One, to cross the nuclear-contaminated "Cursed Earth" fraught with various dangers, and reach Mega-City Two on the west coast to rescue people infected with the new virus 2T(fru)T.
This "Cursed Earth Judge Dredd" 1/12 scale action figure stands approximately 15.2 cm tall, crafted in Judge Dredd's appearance from "The Cursed Earth". The details faithfully recreate the costume from the work, with a fabric cape designed to resist radiation contamination. It also comes equipped with two versions of the classic Lawgiver pistol, Mark One and Mark Two, a truncheon, and weapon accessories such as Boing spray for apprehending criminals, all to help Judge Dredd successfully traverse the Cursed Earth!
The product was made available for limited pre-order earlier yesterday (26th) on the well-known US toy website Big Bad Toy Store (BBTS), but it sold out immediately upon release. Interested collectors might have to spend some time searching online!
