Hasbro "Transformers × Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Wallop" Review: This Turtle Van Does More Than Just Drive!

One is "transformation," the ability to freely switch between vehicle forms like cars and planes and a robot mode. The other is "mutation," the change from small turtles into giant humanoid turtles! Now, you can experience the immense charm of mutation and transformation combined in this "Party Wallop" figure, released by the American toy brand Hasbro! Today, we at the Toy People editorial team are here to play with this new toy that merges the two popular franchises, Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are surely no strangers to the Party Wagon from the original 1987 animated series. This Party Wallop figure is designed based on that very vehicle (even the name is highly related). Leveraging Hasbro's extensive toy development experience, they've injected a fun transformation mechanism into it, creating an incredibly cool product standing approximately 17 cm tall! Furthermore, unlike most products where you need to collect four different figures to enjoy the characteristics of all the Ninja Turtle characters, Party Wallop can become any of the four turtles through its accessories. This is one of the best features of this figure, in my personal opinion. So, let's get right to our main attraction!

▼ The packaging consists of a beautifully printed card back and a blister pack, giving it an overall style similar to a carded figure, just without the hanger hole.

▼ The crossover logo for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers is absolutely fantastic. You can even see a pizza texture on the left half of the 'X'—it's making me hungry!

▼ The Transformers logo and the images of the Ninja Turtles are presented with a cool torn-paper effect.

▼ Turning it over to the back, you can see both the vehicle and robot modes, along with a group shot of the four Turtle brothers that makes you want to buy four of them to display together.

▼ The side shows a list of all the accessories and the main figure inside the blister pack.

▼ Basically, you'll have to destroy the packaging to get the toy out, so in-box collectors should remember to buy two.

▼ Contents list: Includes the Party Wallop main figure, head parts representing the four Turtle brothers, their respective classic weapons, additional accessories, and an instruction manual.

▼ All the transformation steps are in the instruction manual. Even if you're a Transformers novice, you can easily complete the roughly 20-step transformation by following the instructions.

▼ Let's first take a look at Party Wallop in its default state! The main body features the Ninja Turtles' signature yellow and green color scheme, with gray accents on the belt, thighs, hands, and soles. The chest is painted in an even richer shade of yellow.

▼ The blocky chest design, the shoulder armor on both arms, and the tire structures on the sides of the thighs make this Party Wallop figure look even more burly and robust.

▼ Let's take a close look from both sides at the Turtle's he... I mean, Party Wallop's head! It can be said that it retains both the rounded curves of the Ninja Turtles and the angular lines of a Transformer, all while sporting a fierce, teeth-gritting expression.

▼ Let's take a closer look at the various parts of Party Wallop! The shell on the back of the head has a beautiful silver paint application. The chest armor, even though it might be covered by the front of the van after transformation, is still sculpted with nice detail. The arms' articulation is slightly limited by the armor and the tires on the outer thighs, but the feet have excellent ankle pivot for great stability.

▼ Now, let's get right to the transformation!

▼ The first step is to store away Party Wallop's small head!

▼ Flip the vehicle shell from the back upwards. I personally think this look is super cool! It reminds me of super robots like those from "The Brave Express Might Gaine."

▼ Neatly folding away the arms is also very satisfying.

▼ Turtle Van front piece, install!

▼ Next, properly rotate and fold the legs.

▼ The complete silhouette of the vehicle mode quickly takes shape. Now, just flip and fold the shell into place, and we're almost done.

▼ Attaching the spoiler pretty much completes the job.

▼ The chassis of the Turtle Van can store the sais and katanas. Don't forget to attach them if you want to stay armed and dangerous on the road.

▼ The overall look is incredibly cohesive! There are almost no aesthetic flaws or sacrifices made to accommodate the transformation mechanism, which is fantastic.

▼ The most obvious robot parts are hidden in the chassis near the rear wheels, where you can spot the feet.

▼ Don't forget to install the Ninja Turtles logo on the front of the van!

▼ Now that we've seen the vehicle mode, it's time to fully unleash the charm of Party Wallop's robot mode! First, attach the spoiler part to the back shell.

▼ The front of the van can be mounted on the chest or equipped on the forearms as a massive shield.

▼ Next is to get the rest of the accessories sorted out and mount the four brothers' signature weapons. The katanas, sais, nunchaku, and bo staff all have places to be securely stored. Although the folding design of the bo staff sacrifices some aesthetic appeal, the ability to store it inside the back shell is a great feature! The inside of the back shell can also neatly store the heads of the four Ninja Turtles.

▼ Complete! Party Wallop makes a cool entrance!

▼ Of course, if you have a favorite character, don't forget to swap the head part and rotate the emblem on the belt buckle.

▼ With all the weapon accessories attached, the overall presence feels even more substantial.

▼ Despite its bulk, it's still very agile. A flying kick is no problem for our Party Wallop!

▼ The manhole cover emblem on the front of the shell flips over to reveal a pizza.

▼ Both modes are incredibly charming!

▼ Turtle brothers! Assemble!

▼ The ultimate loadout! Just hang all the equipment wherever it fits!

That's all for our review of the Hasbro "Transformers × Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Wallop"! Are you feeling that same itch as me to get your hands on it and start transforming it right away!?
