The 'MODEROID' series of plastic model kits, launched by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, recently announced the latest information on its new, in-development product, 'Chamber,' from 'Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet.' Release date is TBD.
Chamber is a mass-produced anti-Hideauze extermination weapon widely used by the Human Galactic Alliance military. In addition to being equipped with various beam weapons, firearms, and defensive armaments, it also features an AI capable of assisting in combat, educating its pilot, and piloting the unit autonomously. The Chamber unit used by protagonist Ledo is designated 'K6821.' When Ledo was stranded on Earth, K6821 served multiple roles including translator, caretaker, and laborer, supporting Ledo's survival on this verdurous planet. As Ledo gradually began to express emotions through his interactions with Earthlings, K6821 was also influenced, breaking free from the ideological constraints of the Galactic Alliance. Ultimately, it even fulfilled Ledo's will to live, choosing to sacrifice itself to destroy the attacking allied forces.
The 'MODEROID Chamber' recreates its distinctive features such as the rounded head, large eyes, and thick thighs with precisely molded parts. The head features a cockpit ejection mechanism, and an anti-gravity device halo effect part can be attached to the top of the head to recreate its flying state. All joints on the unit are designed for flexible articulation, allowing for dynamic combat poses with the included beam rifle, Gatling gun, and Pinion Axe-Lance.
