Following the release of three kaiju – Gigantron, Emi, and Neronga – from the animated film "ULTRAMAN: Rising" under Bandai's affordable "Ultraman Kaiju Series (ウルトラ怪獣シリーズ)", the company is set to release the "Ultraman Kaiju Series EX Mecha Gigantron" (メカジャイガントロン) on July 27, 2024! The suggested retail price is 880 JPY (tax included).
After Ultraman's fierce battle with Gigantron at the beginning of "ULTRAMAN: Rising", Ken, transformed into the silver giant, takes away the egg of Gigantron, the queen of dragon-type kaiju. Meanwhile, Gigantron, struck by missiles, is brought back by the Kaiju Defense Force (KDF) and later reappears as "Mecha Gigantron," fully encased in silver armor! Not only is its defense significantly enhanced, but it can also fire lasers and numerous missiles mounted on its body. Ultimately, due to damage to its armor and Emi's persistent efforts, Gigantron bypasses KDF's communication protocols and successfully breaks free from human control.
This three-dimensional rendition of Mecha Gigantron in the Ultraman Kaiju Series features a silver and dark gray main color scheme, accented with red and yellow on its eyes and chest. Unlike the sharp, intensely imposing design seen in the film, this soft vinyl figure boasts rounded lines. Its limbs, wings, claws, and other structures are reinterpreted with a more chibi-like proportion, conveying a strong sense of toy-like charm overall.
