Issued by Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., the "Ultraman Monster Series (ウルトラ怪獣シリーズ)", known for its affordability and extensive character lineup, will release a new Yodobashi Camera (ヨドバシカメラ) exclusive soft vinyl toy, the "Neronga Clear Ver.", on September 7, 2024! The suggested retail price is 900 JPY (tax included).
The transparent monster "Neronga", which first appeared in episode 3 of the original 1966 "Ultraman", titled "Science Patrol Sortie", stands 45 meters tall and weighs 40,000 tons. It is set to have lived for over three hundred years in Mount Iwami, Izu, feeding on electricity. It possesses the ability to become completely invisible, only revealing its full form when absorbing electricity. Its head horns not only absorb electricity but can also unleash tens of thousands of volts of "Tyrant Electric Shock" for attack. It has since reappeared in various forms in works such as "Ultraman Z", "Shin Ultraman", and "ULTRAMAN: Rising", among others.
This powerful return of Neronga in its transparent form in this series is essentially identical in sculpt to the earlier regular version (No. 123), reproducing the rough skin texture, the fanged mouth, and the massive horns on its head. However, the transparent molding color truly allows one to fully appreciate Neronga's greatest threat: its ability to become invisible! It's incredibly cool! Not only does it look beautiful, but pairing it with other Ultraman toys for play also creates fantastic visual effects and scenarios. If you're planning a trip to Japan in September, this is an absolute must-buy!
