Kaiyodo, the Japanese model manufacturer, has announced today that its popular action figure series 'AMAZING YAMAGUCHI' will be commercializing "Mazinger Z" and "Great Mazinger" from Go Nagai's classic masterpieces, the Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger series. The release date is yet to be determined.
The 'AMAZING YAMAGUCHI' series features action figures sculpted by Kaiyodo's renowned sculptor, Katsuhisa Yamaguchi, utilizing the highly acclaimed Revoltech joint system. Starting with Marvel and DC superheroes, the series has recently expanded to include Japanese anime characters from titles such as My Hero Academia and Attack on Titan. This series is celebrated not only for its outstanding and powerful sculpts but also for its exceptionally flexible joints, which are the soul of the series, allowing for dynamic battle poses from the original works with various accessories and effect parts.
While prototypes for both products have not yet been revealed, the promotional image suggests that the overall design will likely be based on their anime appearances. Previous machines in the Yamaguchi Revoltech series, such as Grendizer, Getter Robo, and Mazinkaiser, have received high praise for their combination of slender proportions and articulation range that allows for powerful posing. We eagerly anticipate how Master Katsuhisa Yamaguchi will sculpt these two classic robots this time.
