American collectible manufacturer Sideshow Collectibles recently announced a new statue from its "Mythos" series, based on DC Comics: "The Joker and Harley Quinn: Lawless Love" 1/5 scale diorama! Expected to ship from April to July 2025, with a suggested retail price of US$720.
Sideshow's "Mythos" line aims to inject unique designs while retaining the core elements of characters, creating appearances that differ from their original settings. This reinterpretation sees DC Comics' most notorious couple, "The Joker and Harley Quinn," transformed into 1930s gangster partners, reveling in the thrill of their crimes and their wild romance within their hideout! This piece stands approximately 41 cm tall and is crafted from mixed media such as Polystone, fabric, and more. It not only skillfully captures the dynamic pose of the Joker embracing Harley Quinn, but also meticulously details their gazes at each other, their costume designs and tailoring, and the piles of cash and money bags at the base.
Although the Joker and Harley Quinn appear joyful, gazing deeply into each other's eyes, there's still an underlying tension that suggests an imminent explosive conflict. This, combined with the pistols and crowbar in their hands, and the dynamite in the wooden crate at the base, seems to further emphasize their pathological codependency. Additionally, the Joker's left hand includes an interchangeable part holding a submachine gun, enhancing display versatility!
