Chinese toy brand HIYA Toys today (22nd) once again announced on its official X (formerly Twitter) account that its EXQUISITE BASIC series will officially unveil new products themed "Contra: Operation Galuga" at this weekend's San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) – the "Bill Rizer" and "Lance Bean" 1/12 scale action figures!
"Contra" is a run-and-gun scrolling shooter game series produced by Konami of Japan, originally starting in arcades and later appearing on various gaming platforms. In the game, players control weapon-equipped commandos to fight against alien monsters. The new title released in 2024, "Contra: Operation Galuga," is a remake of the original game. In addition to the classic protagonists Bill and Lance, several new characters have been added, and for the first time, a co-op mode allowing four players to play together has been introduced!
From the limited official images, it can be seen that the two protagonists, Bill and Lance, accurately recreate their appearances from the new game. Details such as their high-definition muscular physiques, camouflage pants, and hairstyles are meticulously sculpted. They feature butterfly joints in the shoulders and swivel joints in the thighs, indicating a high degree of articulation. Paired with weapon accessories, they can be posed to recreate various dynamic actions from the game!
