World-renowned Hong Kong toy brand Hot Toys announced today (22nd) on social media a series of products to be released at the Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games convention this weekend. This article will first introduce the highly anticipated new product from the 2019 film "Joker" – the "Joker (The Joker) Artisan Edition" 1/6th scale collectible figure. The suggested retail price is HKD 2,980, and it is limited to 4,000 units worldwide!
The 2019 film "Joker," directed by Todd Phillips and co-written by Scott Silver, reshaped the familiar DC Comics supervillain, portraying Gotham City from a perspective closer to the lives of the underprivileged. It depicts the mentally ill protagonist, Arthur Fleck, being crushed by society and life, gradually falling into an abyss, and transforming into the "Joker," a symbol of chaos and rebellion.
This Joker 1/6th scale collectible figure perfectly recreates actor Joaquin Phoenix's facial features after applying his Joker makeup, vividly capturing his unique mad charm. It also features movable eyeballs to adjust his expression, as if one can see his superb acting through the figure's gaze! The biggest difference between the Artisan Edition and the regular version is that his iconic green curly hair is meticulously hand-rooted by a hair artist, making the overall appearance even more realistic!
For the costume, his vibrant red suit, green shirt, yellow vest, and white socks are precisely tailored, vividly recreating the Joker's image from the film. Coupled with 30 points of articulation throughout the body, it can, to a limited extent, reproduce his dancing movements from the movie. Furthermore, accessories include the sofa he sat on during the Murray Franklin Show, the Murray Franklin Show backdrop, colorful curtains, and other diorama accessories, allowing for the recreation of that classic scene that awed audiences!
