In addition to the "Glow-in-the-Dark Skeletor," renowned poster design and toy company MONDO has also unveiled another astonishing new "Masters of the Universe" themed product: the "Glow-in-the-Dark Scare-Mare" (tentative translation: Scare-Mare). The suggested retail price is US$599. The limited edition will be available for timed pre-order on the MONDO Shop official website starting at noon CT on July 23, 2024, with an estimated shipping date of February 2025!
The "Glow-in-the-Dark Scare-Mare" is an original character officially licensed by Mattel, the rights holder for Masters of the Universe. It was created by MONDO Creative Directors Hector Arce and Bob Fulkerson, with collaborative design by "Masters of the Universe Historian" Florian Bertmer from their team. In its lore, it was the loyal steed of Glow-in-the-Dark Skeletor when he was still human, Karak Nul (tentative translation: Karak NulIn). After Karak was transformed into Glow-in-the-Dark Skeletor by Skeletor's magic, the steed was also affected by his powers, transforming into the Glow-in-the-Dark Scare-Mare, possessing the same abilities!
This Glow-in-the-Dark Scare-Mare stands at 38.1 cm tall, with finely sculpted muscle textures and intricate details of its skull-like head. Its mane, tail, and hooves feature green translucent flame-like material. The entire body is equipped with multiple articulation points, allowing for easy posing in dynamic, galloping stances! As Glow-in-the-Dark Skeletor's steed, it naturally features a full glow-in-the-dark function, emitting a striking ethereal glow in the dark!
Like the Glow-in-the-Dark Skeletor, this figure boldly utilizes mixed media such as fabric, metal, and plastic. The armor accessories, adorned with spikes and chains, are also detachable. The overall design perfectly complements the simultaneously released Glow-in-the-Dark Skeletor, and posing Glow-in-the-Dark Skeletor astride the Scare-Mare in a majestic, galloping pose is incredibly cool!
This figure will come with a mini-comic, a collaboration between MONDO and Dark Horse Comics, which tells the origin story of the Scare-Mare. Furthermore, the timed edition, available for pre-order for one month, will feature a Scare-Mare body where even the flames of its mane and tail glow, presenting an even more powerful appearance than the regular version. Toy enthusiasts, don't miss out!
